Clinical Naturopath and Functional & Nutritional Medicine Practitioner

My name is Milva Pervan, and I am a degree qualified Clinical Naturopath and Functional & Nutritional Medicine Practitioner. I have had an interest in health and natural medicine for most of my life and my personal journey has taken many different paths.

I integrate practices that involve testing and investigating biochemical imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, toxicities, and malabsorption to assist in restoring function, balance and repair. By using functional medicine, we work together to analyse your biochemistry, search for underlying triggers that contribute to your symptoms and tailor your treatment to your specific needs. I believe the body has an innate healing ability if given the right foundation.

My Health Story

I felt quite healthy for most of my life, however I did burn-out by working long hours and not managing my stress effectively.

This is where our stories sometimes lead us down unexpected paths. In 2012, I returned from an overseas holiday where I immediately developed symptoms from some unknown tropical disease. For 2 years there were no answers and I continued to experience fevers, fatigue, brain fog, digestive issues, bone and joint pain, burning feet, memory loss, nausea and dysfunction on many levels. I sought the help of various functional medicine practitioners globally, to help me with my recovery. My journey to good health took several more years and required implementation of various protocols, diets, herbs, supplements, and other modalities.

Journey To Functional Medicine

After completing a Bachelor of Health Science Degree in Natural Medicine, I combine both naturopathic, functional, and nutritional medicine in supporting people on similar journeys. By experiencing my own road to health, I combine various functional testing methods. It is an investigatory process determining what is most effective for everyone. By taking a comprehensive approach, testing includes stool, saliva, blood, urine, hair tissue mineral analysis, lifestyle, and nutritional dietary guidance and more.

I continue to learn and stay updated with the latest research and advances in therapeutic medicine, and undertake additional training, based on changes in scientific data.

I am grateful to the people I encounter through my work and endeavour to develop supportive individualised treatment programmes, with the goal of working together to reach optimum wellness. I consult from the Perth clinic of Advanced Functional Medicine located at the Antony St Specialist Centre in Palmyra, Western Australia. I see patients in person from the Perth area and surrounds, as well as consult across Australia and worldwide via Telehealth.
