Autoimmune Disease Treatment Perth – Reverse the disorder

Autoimmune diseases are becoming more prevalent in today’s society than ever before. According to the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, the economic impact of autoimmune disease in Australia is $30 billion. It is twice that of cancer.

There are over 80 different types of autoimmune disease with many other known diseases suspected to have an autoimmune component to them. Diseases such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis will attack a particular organ of the body, in this case the thyroid gland. While others classifies as systemic autoimmune diseases, such a Systemic Lupus, and attack an organ in the body.

The more common Auto-immune disease include;

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohns and colitis)
  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)
  • Psoriasis
  • Type 1 diabetes
  • Hashimoto’s thyroiditis (underactive thyroid)
  • Graves disease (overactive thyroid)
  • Guillain Barre syndrome (immune system attacks nerves in the legs, arms and upper body)

So why are autoimmune conditions becoming so widespread?

There are many factors that may be contributing to the increase, while some have a genetic predisposition,. The main cause of such a sharp increase is to do with our diet, lifestyle and environment.

Our increasingly dense and urban living conditions require food transported from further and further away. Food processing and manufacturing technologies helps in fulfilling the demands of longer transport distances and time-poor consumers who desire more preparation done for them. Expanding populations have led to the rise of mass factory-farming. It gives little priority to the nutritional composition of the finished produce.

Contributing Factors of Autoimmune disease

  • An increase in the consumption of commercially farmed and processed foods and drinks, and a decline in the quality of food products since major processing and manufacturing were introduced
  • A decrease in the overall gut health of the population, resulting in compromised digestives systems. Overtime, this causes intestinal permeability, aka “Leaky Gut”.
  • Intestinal Permeability is where the intestinal lining is damaged and begins to let food proteins pass through into the bloodstream that otherwise would be contained within the gastrointestinal tract.

What are the treatment options?

  • Ensure the gut and digestive system are operating efficiently and free from infections, parasites and other pathogens
  • Ensure intestinal permeability is not high
  • Investigate and treat multiple nutrient deficiencies if present
  • Overhaul the diet and environment to remove common foods and substances that trigger autoimmune attacks

After an MRI i was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. After years on medications, symptoms worsened with tremors on my right hand, numbness and tingling, muscle weakness and loss of speech. Fortunately last year, I learnt your clinic through an MS support group on facebook. Your thorough testing and subsequent treatment made a great difference, most of my symptoms including balance, weakness, falling alot and others gradually disappeared. I improved greatly over the 4 months of treatment, its been a a number of months since starting treatment, and have improved dramatically since then. Many Thanks
