Clinical Nutritionist & Functional and Integrative Medicine Practitioner

I am a Clinical Nutritionist & Functional and Integrative Medicine Practitioner, and have been working in the health industry in varying capacities, not just in Nutrition, but incorporating my studies in Psychology, Personal Training and as a Remedial Massage Therapist for an holistic approach to health & healing for the last 20 years.
I truly believe in utilising the powerful blend of Conventional and Functional Medicine to help treat and understand individuals with complex/chronic illnesses, imbalances, and sensitivities.

I am passionate about understanding ‘why’ and seeking the ‘root cause’ of our symptoms. I strongly believe we are not only what we eat, but we are what we absorb & what we do not eliminate, thus have through my own experience come to understand the importance of Functional Medicine.

My Mission

To share my knowledge of functional medicine to improve your health & wellbeing in a sustainable & effective manner.

To listen and fully understand through comprehensive testing the imbalances occurring in your body, to connect the dots, then educate you to be more aware of your lifestyle and environment, to evaluate what you consume & absorb for optimal health.

It’s not the years in your life but the life in your years that count, investing in your health is a priority

My Story

I grew up in the UK, in a healthy rural environment, now a woman in my 50’s, I attribute my fitness and good health to consistency throughout the years. This has enabled me to be just as active, physically and mentally as I was 20 years ago. It all comes down to understanding how ‘your’ body works, everybody has a different genetic makeup we are born with, the effect of our environment can alter those genes (epigenetics).

Being a mother of 3 now grown-up children, I fully understand and appreciate the demands and time restrictions of family and working life. Being able to manage your time efficiently/productively whilst still incorporating essential health practices, can be a challenge even for the most organised person.

I feel I connect with my clients on a personal level, due to overcoming my own health challenges over the years, along with my daughter having unexplained health issues in her teens with no answers from Doctors or specialists. They diagnosed her with chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, anxiety & depression, I now know she had a mould toxicity & mast cell activation syndrome.

Journey to Functional Medicine

This failure in the medical system urged me to go back to study to help me seek alternative more effective holistic natural solutions for chronic complex illnesses. The more I research the more inspired I am to constantly look for answers, above and beyond conventional medicine, (which I have found through diet, lifestyle, the functional medicine approach & embracing the area of environmental medicine.

The power of ‘Listening’ to my patients & the huge impact on them feeling ‘Heard’ is something I have come to understand as a priority with my patients.
